Waking the Dead 2.0 || July 16, 2063 (Monday) || 7 AM

[This video is uploaded to all networks of the Vigil, right on the dot (7:00 AM, GMT+8). It starts with a hand, and when that hand moves away, you'll see Inquisitor Jessiah Vice, CEO of Vice Enterprises, sitting at an office desk. He smiles once at the camera in his usual fashion, as if he hadn't gone missing for nearly three months, as if he had not nearly died in a place that shouldn't exist anymore.]
Good morning, Vigil! Did you miss me? [Chuckles.] Of course you did.
[The lights in the room go off as the perspective seems to shift, letting the screen take in a wider area. The large white wall to Jessie's left now has just become a space for projecting what he wants to show to you. Nothing's on it just yet: wait for it.]
As you should already know, I left on a survey of the Dark Hour on June 4, 2063. My goal for this is simple: tracking any strange anomalies within the Borderlines, and report back within two weeks to the Malice Kings of Netsach, and the Wiseman's Committee of the Methuselah. I did this in light of some rather suspicious developments.
[Have some video feeds showing the wide-scale engagements that took place last month, in light of a very real threat to the train lines in all major cities in the Fifth World.]
On June 13, 2063 - go figure, right - I located a peculiar anomaly in the Dark Hour around the Pacific Ocean. I radioed this in, and decided to check things out for myself. I ended up getting swallowed up into the Other World.
[Have a map, now, with the specific coordinates of the anomaly.]
For you young, bright-eyed children who were born WAY past 2012, the Other World is something that you've only read about. I'm not going to mince words: if you have no fucking idea what I'm talking about, do your reading right now. You'll come up with a simple conclusion, one that us oldies already know: this is bad news.
[The map shifts, superimposed with two graphs: an image of Dark Hour movements relative to the Waking World, and an image of Other World activity. You'll note, with a quick observation, that Other World activity is steadily expanding and contracting.]
There is no predictable pattern to the expansion of the Other World, and - unlike before - there is no easy way for us to enter or exit it the way that we used to. We're still looking into that, and I am having my people - in cooperation with the research-related divisions of your fair organizations - see if old methods of dealing with the Other World still apply. We should have more answers by the end of the week.
[The map is disappearing now, and the lights are coming back on. Jessie's smile is gone.]
Let me remind all of you that the Other World was a massive anomaly caused by a bad tip in the Balance between Darkness and Light. It may sound like a whole load of bullshit to some of you, but those of you with a brain will get me.
Let me reminder all of you, as well, that the one creature who was born of the Other World and not simply an shade of something that already existed beyond it was the Watcher in the Dark.
[And smiling again, but the look in his eyes is hard.]
I now open the floor for questions.
General OOC Notes:
+ This is a catch-all for any reactions towards Jessie himself (he did, after all, encourage questions) and interactions between PCs in light of this new development.
+ An attachment of all recorded conversations with Jessie will be sent later that evening, for people to review - of course, "all" is relative. Jessie may, on a need-to-know basis, lock his transmissions between him and whoever else. You can also specify whether you want your character's conversation with him to be private by putting the tag [ENCRYPTED//PRIVATE] on the subject line.
+ Try to specify the time in your subject line, and the location.
+ NPCs are available on call or in person. Just ping me?
